87절. 몸과마음 Body and Mind                                            

 

몸과마음 Body and Mind

몸마음이 하나인데 Though body and mind are one,
따로논다 착각이네 Falsely we think them separate.
몸이가면 마음가고 When body departs, mind follows,
마음가면 몸이가니 When mind departs, body goes;
어찌하여 따로인가 Why then do we think them apart?

나를이룬 이육신에 To this composite of self,
보는이는 누구인가 Who is the beholder?
이몸있어 내가있고 With this body, I exist;
삼라만상 모든것이 In the myriad phenomena,
내가있어 존재하네 I exist, sustaining.

나를이룬 몸마음은 This body and mind that make me
항상어딜 가더라도 Always together, wherever they go,
함께하며 고단하네 Facing hardships hand in hand.
강한마음 약한육신 Strong mind, weak body—
의지하며 삶을사네 Dependent, living life.

깨어지기 쉬운육신 This fragile body, easy to break,
탄생순간 유한생명 Born with finite life.
희로애락 탐진치에 In joy and sorrow, in pursuit and desire,
평생동안 고민하고 Through a lifetime, pondering,
회개하며 살아가네 Repenting, living.

하나님의 보금자리 God's shelter,
이육신의 존귀함을 The dignity of this flesh,
감사하며 사랑하고 Grateful, loving,
스스로를 위로하며 Consoling oneself,
살아감이 최선이네 This is the best way to live.
