97절. 비움  Emptiness                                                            

 

내속안에 있는마음 The mind within me,
빛과같이 빠르면서 As fast as light,
모든세상 포용하고 Embraces all worlds,
걸림없고 자유로움 Without hindrance, free,
깨어나게 하는존재 A presence that awakens.

걸림없는 대자유는  Freedom without hindrance,
탐욕성냄 어리석음 Is free from greed and foolishness,
모든것을 극복하고 Overcoming everything,
내려놓은 무아상태 In a state of emptiness,
간섭하지 않는상태 Without interference.

비움이란 내마음이 Emptiness is the highest state
할수있는 최상경지 My mind can achieve,
무궁무진 한마음은 A boundless mind,
바로잊고 비우면서 Forgetting everything and emptying,
욕심없는 행함이네 An action without greed.

채울수록 더채우고 The more you try to fill,
만족함이 들때까지 The more you want to fill,
더채우고 싶어하니 Until satisfaction is felt,
여유로움 없어지고 Then there's no more emptiness,
조바심만 생긴다네 Only impatience arises.

자신이익 비울때에 When one empties self-interest,
예절평안 생겨나고 Etiquette and peace emerge,
공명심을 버릴때에 When one discards selfishness,
고요함과 자유로움 Tranquility and freedom arise,
피안천국 펼쳐지네 A paradise of peace unfolds.
