13절. 염화시중 미소(拈華示衆 微笑) Smiles                      

 

염화시중 미소(拈華示衆 微笑) Smiles

자라면서 육신으로 Growing up with flesh,
보고듣고 배우면서  Seeing, hearing, learning,
자신만의 세상지식 Having your own world knowledge,
받아들인 기준갖고  With the standard you have accepted,
모든것을 판단하네 You judge everything.

살아오며 세상살이 Living your life, in the world,
알음알이 많아지니 Knowledge increases,
성취감에 우쭐하여 Puffed up with a sense of achievement,
내세우고 자랑하며 You flaunt and brag,
따지기를 좋아하네 Love to argue.

온몸으로 증득하고 Acquire with your whole body,
진리말씀 전하여도 Even if you convey the word of truth,
정녕그것 진리인지 Is it really the truth,
거짓인지 보인대로 Or a lie, as it appears,
겉모습만 판단하네 You judge only by the appearance.

참된지식 아니기에 Because it's not true knowledge,
판단심이 많아지고 Your judgments increase,
집착또한 커지면서 Attachment also grows,
자신만의 잣대대로 According to your own standards,
판단하여 단정하네 You judge and conclude.

바른지혜 참된지식 True wisdom, true knowledge,
시비분별 함이없고 No disputes, no differentiation,
고정짓지 아니하고 You don't fixate,
일체상을 없애나니 Eliminate all appearances,
염회시중 미소일세 A flower held up, the crowd smiles.
